Why? Because with 30+ years of hosting experience, we are able to provide service and comfort for our guests that is unmatched in our area.

We began renting vacation homes in 1984, initially starting with our Alexandria home we dubbed “The Oaks.” Our family personally renovated the 6-bedroom, 4-bath home that nobody else wanted on Lake Louise, transforming it into a beautiful lakefront home. When it was finished, we began advertising in newspapers and with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce — and we hosted our family and friends for fun weekends away!

That was the catalyst for Owen Private Lake Home Rentals of MN to offer private luxury vacation rentals for groups of family and friends in north-central Minnesota. We wanted to provide a vacation destination with a touch of class to those groups who wanted more than a resort experience.

We know exactly what large groups need and want for a vacation experience because we have used them ourselves for our own large group gatherings. Your vacation is private and idyllic, but you can be confident that we’re available if you have a question. 

Hundreds of families have stayed with us over the last 30 years — many returning year after year. They create family traditions and build wonderful memories. Guests make our homes their homes.

With swimming, fishing, boating, games and relaxation, families are connecting and children are laughing and playing. Those experiences we imagined the very first time we opened our doors are now part of each stay at our homes.

Dick and Judy are the owners of these lovely homes and the rock that holds our family together. We have been involved in renting Lake Homes to families and friends for over 30 years. We have acquired and renovated these homes to give our guests a place large enough to accommodate their extended friends and family. Over those years our family and staff have pitched in to help with marketing, maintenance, and scheduling.

The question always arises as to WHY we continue to provide a WOW experience to those wanting a summer-time adventure. The answer: we enjoy the sounds of joy coming from the children when they are on the swings, or catching their first fish, or being pulled behind the pontoon boat, or playing games inside or outside with their family. We enjoy seeing friends gathered for special occasions or a time together to get away and catch-up on each-other’s lives.
