Rental Policies

What are the check-in and check-out times?

During the Summer: 4 pm check-in, check-out 10:30 am

During the non-Summer seasons: noon to noon

Subject to change upon reservation needs.

What is the early check-in and late check-out policy?

May be available upon request

Is there a policy on not allowing children?

No, children of all ages are welcome in our homes.

Do you allow bachelor/bachelorette parties?

We do; however, they are limited to the people that are staying at the house (12 people)!

How does parking work?

The Haven: 6 cars with no street or grass parking. Overflow parking available upon request for cars and boat trailers.

Graystone Lodge: 8 cars with no street or grass parking.

Lake Pointe Lodge: 8 cars with no street or grass parking.

Chateau Lake Louise: 6 cars with no street or grass parking. Overflow parking available upon request for cars and boat trailers.

Do you have 24/7 staff support?

Yes, we are available by phone at all times.

What is the maximum occupancy for the houses?

The Haven: 12 people ages 6 and up, an additional 3 children 5 and under for a total of 15.

Graystone Lodge: 12 people ages 6 and up, an additional 3 children 5 and under for a total of 15.

Lake Pointe Lodge: 12 people ages 6 and up, an additional 3 children 5 and under for a total of 15.

Chateau Lake Louise: 12 people ages 6 and up, an additional 3 children 5 and under for a total of 15.

What are the quiet hours?

Quiet hours are from 10pm until 7 am. We want to be respectful of the neighbors who live around us full-time!

What is the Pet Policy?

While we are animal lovers, there are no pets allowed in any of our homes. Please find alternate arrangements for your furry friends!

What is the policy on life jackets on the boats?

Minnesota Law requires children 10 and under wear a life jack while on the boats.

Are life jackets provided?

We provide 12 adult life jackets on the boat. Bring life jackets for children to ensure proper fit. 

Do you give boat instructions (how to drive, rules, etc.)?

We do boat instructions when guests arrive, this includes signing a waiver.

When are the boats available?

The boats are included in the rental from fishing opener through the end of September.


Payment Questions

Can I pay my full balance when I book?

Of course!

Can I pay with multiple credit cards?

Yes!

Do you have any discounts available?

Not as of right now. Please ask!

Do you take American Express?

Yes!

Is the cleaning fee optional?

No, it is not. We want to ensure that all our guests enjoy their stay and part of that is the house being in its best shape when they arrive!

What is the security/damage deposit and how is it calculated?

A damage deposit equal to approximately 25% the rend us due when you make a reservation 

Damage Deposit and what do I need to do before check-out?

The refundable damage deposit is returned to you within 2 weeks of your departure provided the home and boat are left neat, orderly, and in excellent condition. 

  • Open all windows before you leave to ventilate the home. If a window does not open, don’t force it open and we will open it. Also, open doors where there is a screen. PLEASE DO THIS IF WEATHER PERMITS.

  • A load of used bed sheets should be washing in the washers and drying in the dryers

  • Remaining used bed sheets and towels should be placed in the laundry room

  • All kitchen linens should be placed in the laundry room

  • All food should be taken with you or thrown out

    • Unopened food can be left

  • All garbage and recycling must be out

  • Dishes should be done or washing in the dishwasher, do not empty the dishwasher

  • Grills should be cleaned both on the inside and outside

  • The cleaners finish these and complete the rest of the cleaning. There is a $150 cleaning fee due with the rental payment. If more than 5 hours of cleaning are needed, the extra cleaning hours will be charged at $30/hr and deducted from your deposit before it is returned

What is the cancellation policy?

Normally, we have a cancellation policy of 120 days and would appreciate it if you would let us know as far ahead as possible if you would like to cancel.  We will stay flexible at this point as we have no idea what the next 6-12 months will bring us.  We will communicate during the year as we know more.

How do I obtain the keys?

The keys are there once you arrive at the house.

What if the property is locked upon our arrival?

We are available by phone and have people around to come help, if help is needed.

What time is check-in?

During the Summer months: check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 10:30 a.m.

During the non-Summer months: check-in is noon and check-out is also noon.

Do you provide pack-n-pay cribs?

Yes, there are 2 in each home.

Do you provide cribs?

Yes, there is one in each home.

Do you provide high chairs?

Yes, there are 2 in each home.

What if we have a maintenance emergency during our stay?

We are available to help! Please call so we can determine a repair plan.

Can I bring my pet?

While we are pet lovers, we do not allow pets in any of our homes.

Can I rent this for my children and their friends?

No, the primary renter must be staying in the house during the time of rental.

Is smoking and/or vaping allowed in or around your properties?

No smoking is allowed in the house or garage.

Not more than 12 additional daytime guests are permitted by Douglas County VRBO requirements. Owner may have additional requirements.

Graystone Lodge:

Not more than 12 additional daytime guests are permitted by Douglas County VRBO requirements. Owner may have additional requirements.
